THE PLATEAU STATE FARMERS’ DATABASE: TESTING nHUB’s OUTSOURCING COMPONENT.
The Plateau State Government through its Ministry of Agriculture had previously embarked on a data gathering exercise which would see the State Government having a database of her farmers. The farmer’s database application was developed by nHub Nigeria an indigenous technology and innovation hub in Jos. The application captures each farmer’s information such as Gender, age, farm size, major crops cultivated and average farming income. This is in a bid to have database that spur informed decision making and enable farmers secure loans, quick fertilizer distribution and other farm resources/inputs (from bodies such as the CBN, BOI etc.) in order that these farmers may enhance their crops production and hence contribute to the growth of the agricultural sector.
Outsourcing in such ventures allows Government and private organizations concentrate on their core business while other sensitive duties are carried out by specialized companies. This makes for better results within the shortest possible period with less costs incurred.
“nHub Nigeria has re-invented her software outsourcing component by creating new operational delivery models that contribute significantly to reducing cost while providing agility, continuous innovation and speedy deployment of products to organizations and markets thereby enabling our clients to focus on key business goals, gain a competitive edge, and achieve better results”
